Colibri Resources (CBI) Bolsters Sonora Portfolio with High-Grade Gold and New Financing

Date:

Colibri Resources continues to stand out among Mexico’s emerging gold juniors, with high-grade drill results, strong metallurgical data, and a clear push to advance exploration in Sonora. This update summarizes the company’s recent sampling, drill highlights, CEO commentary, and financing activities — all based on public, verified data.

Project Data and High-Grade Results

Pilar Gold-Silver Project (49% JV interest with Tocvan Ventures)

  • 2025 Diamond Drilling:
    • 83.5 m @ 1.3 g/t Au (including 9.7 m @ 10.3 g/t Au)
    • 64.9 m @ 1.2 g/t Au (including 3.0 m @ 21.6 g/t Au and 209 g/t Ag)
    • 116.9 m @ 1.2 g/t Au (including 10.2 m @ 12.0 g/t Au and 23 g/t Ag)
  • 2024 RC Drilling:
    • 56.4 m @ 1.0 g/t Au (including 3.1 m @ 14.7 g/t Au)
    • 42.7 m @ 1.0 g/t Au (including 3.1 m @ 10.9 g/t Au)
  • 2023 Bulk Sample: ~1,400 tonnes averaging 1.9 g/t Au, heap-leach recovery 62–63%.
  • Metallurgical Testing: 95–99% Au recovery from fine fraction under agitated leach.

These results confirm consistent mineralization, particularly in surface and near-surface zones, indicating that Pilar holds genuine development potential. As CEO Ian McGavney put it, “With a permitted processing facility now secured nearby, Pilar stands out as a ready and logical candidate for a larger bulk sample program… Pilar is clearly positioned for near-term evaluation. Advancing Pilar in this way would be highly advantageous to both Colibri and Tocvan shareholders, particularly with gold trading near all-time highs.”

EP Gold Project (100% owned)

  • Over 12,000 m drilled and ~2,500 surface samples collected to date.
  • Only three of ten high-priority targets have been drilled.
  • Property covers 4,766 hectares in the Caborca Gold Belt, near producing mines La Herradura and Noche Buena.
  • In September 2025, Colibri engaged TerraEye to deploy AI and satellite analytics to enhance targeting efficiency.

McGavney noted, “Colibri is executing a clear, staged growth plan at an opportune time for precious metals. With district-scale exploration potential at EP and Pilar advancing toward development with infrastructure now permitted nearby, Colibri is well positioned to deliver meaningful value for shareholders.”

The combination of advanced exploration tools and strong geological data gives EP a modern edge as Colibri seeks its next discovery.

Recent Financing (October 2025)

On October 6, 2025, Colibri announced a non-brokered private placement of up to C$1.3 million in equity units and up to US$250,000 in convertible debenture units. Each equity unit is priced at C$0.15 and includes one common share and one full warrant; each warrant is exercisable at C$0.25 for 24 months. Each debenture unit consists of a US$1,000 principal amount 10% unsecured convertible debenture (maturing in two years, convertible at C$0.25 per share, FX fixed at C$1.30/US$1) plus 5,300 warrants exercisable at C$0.25 for 24 months.

Net proceeds are earmarked for EP and Pilar work programs and general working capital. As CEO Ian McGavney stated in the release, “This financing provides us with the resources to advance key exploration initiatives at Pilar and EP while also strengthening our balance sheet. We view this as a significant step forward that enables us to deliver on important near-term objectives and continue positioning Colibri for growth.”

Strategic Context

  • The 5-for-1 share consolidation completed in June 2025 cleaned up the cap table, improving institutional optics.
  • The Diamante Project was simplified to around 60% effective ownership after acquiring Silver Spruce’s stake in Yaque Minerales.
  • Financially, Colibri remains pre-revenue but continues to refine its structure while raising fresh capital to sustain drilling and AI integration.

The Bigger Picture

Sonora remains one of the world’s most prolific gold regions, and Colibri’s assets sit right in the middle of it. With high-grade drill intercepts, validated metallurgy, and AI-driven exploration, the company is showing a rare combination of traditional geology and modern analytics.

Still, challenges persist — cash reserves are thin, and ongoing exploration depends on financing execution. The current round, if fully subscribed, could bridge that gap and maintain project momentum into 2026.

Conclusion

Colibri Resources’ story through late 2025 is defined by high-grade gold intercepts, technological modernization, and financial discipline. With strong investor support for its latest placement and growing momentum across key assets, the company is positioning itself for a potentially pivotal year ahead. If the next EP or Pilar results confirm continuity and scalability, Colibri could emerge as one of the most undervalued micro-cap explorers in Sonora’s gold belt.
